Latin (botanical) name: Euphrasia fficinalis

Common names: Meadow Eyebright, Red Eyebright, Augentrostkraut, Euphraisia Eyebright, Euphrasia officinale, Euphrasiae Herba Plant Description: Eyebright is an attractive, delicate plant, growing 2 to 8 inches tall. Commonly found in dry pastures, especially in chalky soil, it is an annual. From July to August or September, it produces tiny purplish-red or white flowers variegated with yellow. It has square, downy, branching stems that are erect and wiry. The leaves, 1/6"-1/2" long and approximately 1/4" broad, vary from narrow and pointed to almost round, and are in opposite pairs. It is a emi-parasitic plant, therefore, when transplanted into a garden, it needs to be protected by grass so that it can draw part of its nourishment from the roots of the grass and other plants.

Use: 30-60 drops in water or juice, 2-3 times daily or as needed. Shake well before using.
